The Alvin Rotary Club will host the 41st annual Frontier Days Celebration beginning Thursday, April 23rd and running through Saturday, April 25th, 2015. The festivities will begin Thursday April 23rd when the carnival opens at 5:00 p.m. and runs until 10:00 p.m. Friday Frontier Days continues with a Crawfish Boil in the old Downtown Alvin area around City Hall. A crawfish eating contest and live entertainment by the Zydeco Dots band will also be part of Friday nights entertainment. Food vendors will be located in the Downtown Alvin area on Friday and Saturday and in National Oak Park on Saturday only. Arts and Crafts will be set up in the old downtown area and booths will be open both Friday and Saturday. Other Arts and Crafts vendors will be set up in National Oak Park, but will only be open Saturday. Saturday's full day of events features the Frontier Days Parade through the old downtown area of Alvin. Special activities are held throughout the day, including the popular "shoot-out" performances by the Alvin Rotary Club Gunfighters. Saturday's entertainment continues in the Downtown Alvin area with live performances by Jerry Deleon and South Band band, the Jackson Avenue band and La Calma band. Nearby kiddie rides, food concessions, and carnival activities run concurrent with the Arts, Crafts & Collectibles Festival. and the Antique and Collectible Car and Bike Show. Don't miss the exciting Club 100 Frontier Days drawing, when the Alvin Rotary Club will pull one lucky winner to receive a brand new truck! Free transportation will be provided between the separate events in National Oak Park and the Downtown Alvin area. Frontier Days brings many people to downtown Alvin and most return year after year to enjoy the entertainment and full day of activities. Proceeds support scholarships and other charitable activities in the Alvin area. Schedule of Events:
