The day may have started out gloomy and left the ground a little soggy, but that soon turned. The sun made its way through the clouds making a beautiful day perfect for a packed filled day of festivities by the bay. The aromas and sounds of fun, food, and entertainment filled the air in La Porte's Sylvan Beach Park over the weekend. Everything from high-flying thrill rides to smoked filled cook-off tents transformed the city's historic park into a marketplace of amusement.
The festival kicked-off "with a parade followed by activities at the park", said a La Porte festival represenative, there were "many exciting things to enjoy throughout the day including live entertainment, food, arts & crafts booths, a carnival, cook-off, pageant, and much more. And, always exciting for the crowd, Miss Sylvan Beach was crowned".
